I am a Geographer investigating Human-Environment Interaction in agricultural landscapes. My current work focuses on using GIS and spatial analysis to identify and project agricultural suitability of specialty crops - almonds, walnuts, grapes, strawberries, citrus, lettuces, coffee, sugarcane.

I have a Ph.D. in Geography from Kansas State University (KSU) where I was advised by Dr. Caldas. My dissertation focused on the land change dynamics promoted by the expansion of sugarcane in the Brazilian Cerrado. I was fortunate to join Dr. Caldas as a researcher assistant in the NSF Collaborative Research: Land Change in the Cerrado: Ethanol and Sugar Cane Expansion at the Farm and Industry Scale. I also had postdoctoral experience investigating the coupled natural and human dynamics of the Great Plains in Kansas. My postdoc was funded by the NSF CNH Coupled Climate, Cultivation, and Culture in the Great Plains: Understanding Water Supply and Water Quality in a Fragile Landscape. My work was affiliated with both Stroud Water Research Center and Kansas State University.
